The D-ring snaffle is a combination of the full cheek snaffle and the eggbutt snaffle. Like the full cheek, the vertical bars provide substantial lateral control without the dangers associated with the arms of the full cheek. Like the eggbutt, D-ring snaffles reduce pinching at the corners of the mouth that you would otherwise have with a loose ring snaffle.
